PENELOPE DIAZ, NCARB

FOUNDING PRINCIPAL

Penny founded DOMUS Studio Group in 2007 after practicing in Dallas for twelve years.  Her practice covers a range of multifamily product types including affordable/tax-credit, senior living, student housing and mixed-use. In addition to her role as lead designer, she is also responsible for operations and client relations.  Her professional and community involvement has centered around affordable housing solutions and ULI. In 2009, Penny began working with Habitat for Humanity of (South) Collin County.  After being their architect for several years, she became an active member of their board, serving as President for three years.  She is currently serving as advisory board member for Agape Resource and Assistance Center and is part of the team creating Jericho Village – Agape’s new housing solution that incorporates wellness and counseling for all residents.  In ULI, Penny has served on the WLI committee for five years, Programs committee for two years, Multifamily Product Council (local) for three years.  She has participated in the Ash Creek TAP and Saint Albans TAP. Penny also serves as an Alumni member of Lagniappe Ladies, an organization providing funding for projects at Louisiana Tech University. She has also served on an NCARB Case Study Task Force to develop the scenarios used in the Architecture Licensing Exam.
